There was a lot on the line in Nowata, as the Ironmen needed a win to ensure a spot in the playoffs against the Tonkawa Buccaneers. A victory could have gotten Nowata the No. 3 seed and with a loss, the Ironmen could be on the outside looking in. In a defensive slug fest, Tonkawa got the best of Nowata, as the Bucs won 6-2.

Tonkawa trailed 2-0 well into the fourth quarter, but the Bucs were able to drive the ball down the field late in the game and score a touchdown with just over two minutes remaining in the game. The Ironmen drove the ball into Tonkawa territory, but were stopped on a fourth down play.

Nowata scored its lone points on this safety in the second quarter.

The Nowata defense made several fourth down stops on the evening. This one here was key with just over ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Despite the loss, things went the way of Nowata so that the Ironmen were still able to get into the playoffs as the four seed. Nowata will play Rejoice Christian. We will have that game for you on Real Country KRIG 104.9 FM and KRIGTV.com next Friday at 7 p.m.
